Why Does Obama Use Sing-song Rhythm In Speeches? Does He Sound Like A Baptist Minister You Better Believe?

Filed in Category - Baptist Hymn Lyrics

Don’t you think he sometimes sounds exactly like Martin Luther King, fwith that rise in his voice to a point then saying his opinions with a down turn at the end of a sentence like they are factual statements. It has a very persuasive effect don’t you think. The words hardly matter.

It is a cultivated speech habit and yes it is effective. It appeals to the emotions and motivates without letting people realize it.

oh yea, and John McCain unconvincing friendliness, and over use of “my friends.” How about his staged sincerity during his speeches, fake smiles and despite his concern for the people, doesn’t stay long after events to talk to the people.
And what about good ol’ Sarah Palin? How about that overuse of the colloquial dialect to try and sound more “down home.” What about the fact that she says she wants to talk more to the American people, but she wont talk to reporters? I guess she prefers planned interviews instead of regular interviews…wonder why?

because if you mesmerize the masses it doesn’t matter that you don’t have anything important to say. we’ve all heard catchy songs that you cannot get out of your head, but when you actually read the lyrics, the song is really dumb, and then you feel like an idiot for listening in the first place,
this is what the empty blak suit does, this is what the used car salesman does, this is what the televangelist does, this is what the con man does,
it’s all explained in the link:http://www.amnation.com/vfr/archives/011…
thus is the magic of obamma

Obama is a good speaker and very articulate. I think what you mean is the way JESSIE JACKSON speaks. JJ is a bum. Obama, on the other hand is a smart man, albeit a bit too far left.
U can’t handle…….hey you believe in ADAM & EVE do ya?? and that women who are raped shouldnt be alowed to control their own bodies. Well that makes YOU a barbarian

The words matter to me. He’s speaking the way he was taught, to enunciate and to reflect on important passages. And any “uh’s” are normal patterns in speeches of those used to speaking in public.

I think it’s easy to compare him to MLK. The issue I take with that is in his speeches, which are hardly memorable or substantive. Obama may be trying to invoke MLK, but he’s a pale reflection, if at all.

The words definitly matter for those who bother to listen. I was very moved. I have visited churches where pastors put on a show and didn’t say anything. I know the difference. This is insulting.

It is a technique that goes with body language that they are coached on by experts. It is said to provide a quite hypnotic appeal when one speaks this way. It encourages trust and calm.
    Slick, huh?

Baptist ministers are great! There are none better. I think Obama would be flattered to be compared to them.

Look, I prefer what Obama says rather than what McCain says in his snivelling voice and “that one” comments and Palins, ” Gee dog-gone-it! Yoooouuu Betcha!”
    Makes me want to vomit.

He doesn’t user a sing-song rhythm and you are race-baiting. Stop it.

Why does the old man put everyone to sleep, and why does Sarah sound like she’s scratching her fingernails across a blackboard?

  13. Schplakk on December 23, 2009 11:53 pm

Yeah, the comfort factor of smooth, even speech, is what shows how collected a person is with their thoughts.

Every where King went, controversy followed. Kind of like Obama.

He actually learned to speak that way from 20 years in Rev. Wrights church. He just learned not to scream about hating us, he intends to take us down from inside.

  16. BioRed on December 24, 2009 12:34 am

And whats wrong with that? Better he sound like a white, Christian T.V evangelists? I’ll take Martin Luther King over a which doctor any day. Shouldn’t you be in school kid?

  17. Verona on December 24, 2009 1:12 am

Yes, he does speak in a rhythm. This is not racist as someone below stated. It is just his speech pattern.
