Why Do Christians Think That Paul Knows More About The Gospel Than Jesus Christ?

Filed in Category - Gospel Sermons

Jesus had the perfect opportunity to prepare people for the sacrifice gospel at the Sermon on the Mount… and he did not say a thing about sacrifice for sins.
And he surely would have said something about the importance of the Crucifixion after the resurrection, as he spoke with his apostles, but he did not. Jesus had already given the apostles and disciples the only true gospel.
Why in the world do Christians think that Paul would know more about the gospel of Jesus Christ than Jesus himself? (especially since Paul/Saul was the one who terrorized the ones that had accepted the Gospel that Jesus gave them.)
Time to wake up people!
Has that substitute gospel transformed you? Are you really a new person, or just the same person with different beliefs.

He claimed he got his information directly from Christ Himself….he constantly has to re-assure people of this throughout his epistles, so there must have been a great deal of dis-belief in his claims even then…
The Church adapted his epistles as authoritative because he offered the most systematic approach to the new religion and was accepted by the Roman franchise of early Christianity (“all roads lead to Rome” was the understanding – at least in the intellectual world – back then). Paul grew up in Tarsus, a thoroughly Greek city, and so was exposed to Greco-Roman culture in ways his Palestinian counterparts never could. Paul, despite the possiblility he may have been making up a lot of his claims (his anger in his letters often makes one suspicious of just how “at peace” meeting Jesus in a vision made him) became the main voice of the Proto-Orthodox position.
Whether Christians are comfortable with it our not, Paul’s ideas are often more central to Christianity than Jesus’s were (he’s certainly quoted more often on this forum by Christians than Jesus ever is)….He took the religion OF Jesus, and turned it into a religion ABOUT Jesus….

I respect your opinion yet I must disagree with you. Christ spoke to the Jews, not to the gentiles. He (Jesus) commissioned Paul to preach the good news to the gentiles. Paul, with the Holy Spirit of God, brought the news of Christ to all of us who were not the chosen people. The Jews are the natural branch. We are grafted in at the cross. If Paul had not been commission by Christ, we might not have known the Gospel. Thank God Paul obeyed the Lord.
Since meeting the Lord, I am a totally changed person. I do everything differently. The way I think, talk, act, believe, perceive, everything has changed…for the better. Thank You Jesus!!

Time for you to read the bible!!
Christians do NOT believe that Saul knows more about the gospel then Jesus.
Jesus preached the gospel but He never wrote anything in the bible The bible was written by men 60 years after the death of Jesus and then many men wrote the bible and added on to it. Century after century the bible was changed by MAN.

Actually, i don’t think that. In fact, its not ‘Paul’s gospel’, its the gospel of Jesus! Paul was inspired by God to write certain books of the Bible. He mentioned the gospel in some of them, and its the same gospel that Jesus taught!

I don’t believe Paul knows more about the gospel than Jesus. I believe as the Bible states that Jesus Himself picked Paul. He chose Paul and told Him what to write. See us Christians believe the entire Bible is the inspired word of God.

Paul had hindsight and also the torah to work from. Jesus was telling thediscipless what would happen but they would not accept it. if yourememberr Jesus even said get behind me satan to Peter who was telling him not to enter Jerusalem

Jesus talked about the cross and His sacrifice continually.
Paul was an apostle, and Paul’s words are not Paul’s words. They are the Word of God Himself.

The distinction between what Jesus said and what Paul said is intentionally blurred in Bible classes. You’re supposed to think of them as the same.

Not all Christians feel that way. But the worship & veneration of Paul is mainly a Catholic thing…..Well mostly just Lion of Judah and his groupie Chris.
