it depends on the venue, but they use it all over the US.

Interesting, I am guessing religion sells there.
In my area the only background tunes I hear piped through are sea chanteys and whaling ballads, It’s quite common here, has anyone else notice that in their area?

Wow….it’s gonna be hard to answer all that… Jesus (the human half) was Jewish. I have been to confession several times and never did I get away with such an easy penence. I had to read chapters and verses and books and things pertaining to my offenses. We do not worship or bow down to Mary, we reverance as all mothers deserve reverance but her more than any, Christ while he was dying on the cross gave her to John and John to her (symbolism that she was given to us and us to her) you have pictures of your loved ones don’t you? that’s the same thing as have pics or statues of holy people that are important to us, not for worship but for importance or memory. The Bible also says that man cannot have more than 1 master if a priest marries he becomes more concerned for his family rather than his church. Paul also asked that we stay single as he was but if we must, marry so as not to sin. The Catholic Bible does contain the book of Macabees. The priest is a descendant of peter who was given the keys to Heaven and takes the Christ-like responsibility of “what is held bound here on earth will be held bound in Heave and what is forgiven here on earth will be forgiven in Heaven”
I sense a tremendous amount of anger and hurt in your question. I would pray that you find peace and are able to quell the anger and resentment.
The different denominations have been perverted by man and will more than likely continue to be.
It isn’t about religion anyway, it’s about FAITH in GOD and trust in JESUS CHRIST.

I recommend that:
1. You try The Amplified Bible, which gives alternative translations of many words.
2. You learn to differintiate between cultural religionists and practicing ones who truly try to practice what their religion teaches.
3. You research The Apocrapha
4. You remember that Jesus was a Jew and probably looked Middle-Eastern, and do a bit of research about the origins of Judaism ( which, as far as my own research has indicated, originated in the Middle East ).
5. You learn to be a bit more tolerant. Prejudice, especially from someone who has been subjected to it, is just plain ugly.

Yep. Jesus was not a white man; he was dark skinned. I totally agree with your remarks about Catholicism. I grew up Catholic by birth, not by choice. As an adult, I realized the inconsistencies in it, and while I do have Faith now, I do not practice any religion. Religion is a means to control the masses. Religion is one thing and God is another.

If you believe in God then you cut out worrying about most of that stuff. Simply ask Him to show you the truth, He will. Finding the truth is like getting rid of all the additives. It’s pure, it tastes real and it’s good for you. I know the Bible seems impossible to be real any more but God is big enough to keep it real against all the odds. If you don’t believe at least that much about the God you believe in then you don’t have a God worth believing in.

I also assumed that Jesus was middle eastern. I agree that religions have some issues and that they probably got some things wrong, but who am I to decide which parts those are? I am Catholic, and I participate in my religion because it makes me feel good. I live my live as a good and decent Christian woman, and I know that God will make the final judgement on me. He knows the person I am. You’re right, a few extra prayers assigned by a priest may not cleanse your soul of sin, but God knows when you are truly repentent and when you are not. There are so many religions in this world, but nobody on the planet can know which is living the way God wants it. Only God knows that, and our job as Christians is to guess and hope we get it right. We can’t do more than that.

first i have no clue what jesus looked like, my family is from the mideast, my father was born only blocks from where they say jesus was born, however my father is fair skinned blonde hair and green eyes, my aunt is a red head, i have light olive colored skin, light brown eyes and dark hair. so from my observation of my family i can not conclude what jesus looked like, never been to the mideast myself so all i can go by is my family
i was born into a catholic family but we never really followed the rules, to this i say to each their own
as far as jews thinking they are superior i have never heard of that before, from the jews i have known i did not feel as though they thought superior of themselves
