I don’t know the title of this christian song: some of the lyrics are: Lord, let us see how great your love is
Filed in The Category Christian Lyrics
I think it is a fairly old christian song, it is quite modern because we sung it in my youth club. I really want to play this on the guitar so I need to know the lyrics. Some other lyrics in the song are: ‘You have won my heart so my lips will glorify your name, always’
Are Florence and the Machine over-rated?
Filed in The Category - Christmas Hymn Lyrics
My girlfriend bought me “Lungs” at Christmas and I was looking forward to hearing the full album as it had recived very good reviews. But I have to say Im not impressed. Musically its fairly ordinary, diddo for the weak lyrics. She just comes across as a poormans PJ Harvey, better still, a poor mans Patti Smith. And lets face it, Florence wouldnt be in the same league as those two.
Its not a bad record I guess, I mean compared to a lot of the manufactured nonsense out there and all the RnB types featuring each other, sampling songs by better artists. Compared to that its good. But I just expected more giving the acclaim, just dont think shes what shes cracked up to be.
Do you think florence is over rated or is she worthy of the acclaim?
You Might be a child of the 80′s if…..?

You Might Be a Child of the 80s if…
…you won’t walk into the place where you once knew every bartender on a first name basis because “there’s too many kids there…”
…Schoolhouse Rock played a HUGE part in how you actually learned the English language…
…kids that work in restaurants and supermarkets are starting to piss you off by calling you “sir” or “ma’am”…
…you ever dressed to emulate a person you saw in either a Duran Duran, Madonna, or Cyndi Lauper video…
…you can remember singing along with Kim “We’re the Kids in America” Wilde and not feeling age conscious…
…you know, by heart, the words to any “Weird” Al Yankovic song…
…you have begun to lust after women (or men) that it would be socially inappropriate for you to date due to their age…
…you remember the first time “Space: Above and Beyond” aired – it was called “Battlestar Galactica”…
…songs by Debbie Gibson still haunt you to this day…
…going to keg parties no longer involves hiding out in the woods when the cops show up…
…you’re starting to get that “why aren’t you married yet” shpiel, not just from parents, but now from friends that are married…
… you’re parents wanted you to attend medical school, but you decided it was pointless since Quincy got all the babes anyway…
…when somone mentions two consecutive days of the week, the Happy Days theme is stuck in your head for hours on end…
…you know what “Sike” means…
…you know the profound meaning of “Wax on,Wax off”…
…you know that another name for a keyboard is a “Synthesizer”…
…you can sing the McDonald’s Big Mack Filet-o-fish, quarter pounder, french fry song while jump roping…
…you ever ended your sentence with “psych”…
…you solved the Rubics cube…..by peeling off the stickers…
…you watched the pound puppies…
…you can sing the rap to “the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”…
…you yearned to be a member of the Baby-sitters club and tried to start a club of your own…
…you owned those little Strawberry Shortcake scented dolls…
…you know what ‘Whoa’ means from Blossom…
..you remember trying to guess the episode of the Brady Bunch from the first scene…
…you remember when Madonna was just hitting the scene…
…you’ve ever shopped at a Banana Republic or Benetton, but not in the last five years…
…the Brady Bunch movie brought back cool memories…
…you remember when “The Reflex” was a cool song…
…you remember, “Hey, let’s be careful out there.”…
Three words: “Atari” “IntelliVision” and “Coleco”. Sound familiar?
…you remember the days when “safe sex” meant “my parents are gone for the weekend”…
…you remember “Friday Night Videos” before the days of MTV…
…a predominant color in your childhood photos is “plaid”…
…while in high school, you and all your friends discussed elaborate plans to get together again at the end of the century and play “1999″ by Prince over and over again…
…you remember when music that was labeled “alternative” really was…
…you, yes you, sat down and memorized the entire lyric sheet to “It’s the end of the world as we know it”…
…you know who Fat Albert is. (And who was old boy with the pink mask?)…
…you could breakdance, or wish you could…
Three words: M.C. Hammer…
…you thought it would be great to have a friend named “boner”…
…you can sing the entire theme song to “Duck Tales”…
…you played the chipmunks Christmas album all year long…
…the crypt keeper really freaked you out…
…you remember reading Kool-Aid man comics…
…you ever watched Fraggle Rock

i was just wondering as its prob not possible for us to meet up again before christmas for me to give her a physical christmas present…do you think its a good idea to kinda do her a ”online mixed tape”…e-mail her the links/websites to songs that remind me of her, and the lyrics to them??
kinda sounds …geeky…so im not sure…i mean they’re good songs and all…but you know…
any advice much appreciated!

How many hours of piano lessons does one need to become a reasonable player?
Filed in The Category Hymn Chords
I can read basic music. I can play tunes on a keyboard (not a piano) with one hand.
Starting from this point, how many hours of lessons would I need to get to a level where I can play children’s songs and perhaps hymns that children sing at schools? I mean playing with both hands, comfortable with chords etc…
As an added complication, also assume I have no access to a piano between lessons…
Please tell me what you think of this Lady GaGa poem i wrote and tell me if i’ve missed any of her songs out?
Filed in The Category - Christmas Hymn Lyrics
Oh,Lady GaGa is such an inspiration,
Shes a fucking captivating temptation.
Her first record was Just Dance,
Ofcourse, the record company gave her a chance.
Then she came out with LoveGame,
Followed by Paparazzi,Pokerface,and The Fame.
Oh,how i can not remember the Beautiful,Dirty Rich,
With that “Bang Bang ” and that wonderful pitch.
Then came Eh,Eh,Money Honey and Again Again,
With the addicting rhythm it contained.
Brown Eyes,Summertime and Boys Boys Boys,
Throw your hands up and make a loud noise.
Starstruck,Paper Gangsta and I Like It Rough came next,
Disco Heaven and Vanity are such crazy stuff.
Retro Physical,Rockshow and Dirty Ice-Cream,
Go and admire this singful theme.
Then came Fever,Wonderful and Shake Ur Kitty,
Oh,her lyrics and styles are so very pretty.
Oh,Honest Eyes,Christmas Tree,and Fashion,
I love her music with a fucking great passion.
Oh god! Fancy Pants,No Floods and Kaboom,
Wonderland makes me wanna get crunk and zoom!
Everyone,Blueberry Kisses and Let Love Down,
Shes so exquisite, someone give her a crown.
Shes a new Pop Queen,
And her awe-inspiring outfits,i’ve never seen.
Big Girl Now,Silly Boy and Bad Romance,
Get up off your feet and madly dance.
Speechless,Alejandro and Red And Blue,
Captivated,Second Time Around and Imagine to.
Oh,D’yer Miker,Dance In The Dark and Electric Kiss,
Her ways of words are truly bliss.
Monster.Hollywood and Future Love,
Is kindly written with loads of love.
Oh,No Way,Out Of Control and So Happy I Could Die,
Let Teeth,Viva La Vida and Telephone fly by.
Lady GaGa has an phenomenal voice,
Oh,when i listen to her songs.
I am spoilt for choice.
