I love to sing…don’t we all? lol. My voices isn’t terrible and I can actually do very well and songs that are more like hymns – amazing grace, and carols like Away in a Manger, but music like Metallica and even country music sounds kind of bad when I sing it. Not like a dying cat or anything though lol. I’m not about to be the next American Idol or anything, but I’d love to be able to sing for people I know and be confident. Without seeing a professional, is there anything anyone can recommend?…and please keep the snarky comments like ‘Sing Solo – So Low that no one can hear you’…to a minimum thanks.

Practice makes perfect…….the more you train your vocals, the better they will sound.
Sheet music and play piano yourself so that you don’t have to pay for a professional to teach you.
Join a choir. It doesn’t have to be at a church. If you want to at a church then go for it but don’t hold yourself back if u want more. Maybe a community ed class or as a University Ed course. Some where that u can learn the basic of notes and how they work so u can learn to sing those notes too. Once u start to learn u will probably want to learn more. Then go off to your own style of singing from there. U need to get that basic stuff down first.
we all love to sing..but just one thing …a person with a country voice cant sing rock and a rocker cant sing jazz…understand???just the way aerosmith spoilt the song i dont wanna miss a thing…now just know u’re strengths and work on them…know wat u’re good at…and ya of course learning to read music does help a lot. try breathing exercises. and pitches..try to know u’re range and go as high as u can….once u practice this u’ll know the difference.
