That’s a good one. Back when I was in Young Womens’ group, I always liked “I Walk By Faith”, I think it’s called. Goes something like, “I walk today, a daughter of heavenly parents, designed am I in nature by inheritance”, etc.

Mine is my favorite for a very specific reason. “I know that my Redeemer lives” was the very first hymn to which I understood the words as a green missionary in Japan many years ago.

It is really hard for me to pick just one because there are alot that I loke but if I had to pick one that touches my soul every time I sing it, I would have to choose How Great Thou Art.
I look at all of his creation and just stand back and praise him for what he has done in my life thus far, but I know that the journey is still a long one ahead of me
I am happy that God is working in your life and I wish you the best of luck in your career

I have lots of favorites and most are Primary songs! I also love “I am a Child of God.” Knowing that I am a daughter of God is a great feeling!
The Primary songs are all great – “As I search the holy scriptures,” “Book of Mormon Stories,” and of course “Popcorn popping on the apricot tree.” Many of these I sang when I was a little kid. (We didn’t pop up on “beam” when we sang “Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam.”) Last year’s Sacrament Meeting program had wonderful ones!

I especially like “Come come ye saints” and “if you could hie to kolob”

My favorite hymn is on page 284 and called, If You Could Hie to Kolob.” I love both the tune and the message of that hymn. Awesome!

I always loved “Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel.”
I think I just loved using the words “let no one shirk.” LOL

Theres so many good hymns out there. I think my favorite one changes every week depending on what has been happening in my life lately. I love just flipping through the hymn book and reading the words, or picking the notes out on the piano. Its great!

“A child’s prayer”
One reason that I love this hymn is because during church one Sunday a member of the Mormon Tabernacle choir and his daughter sang it. When they where done almost every one was at tears because of how beautiful it was.

I’ve got many, but my favorite would be “How firm a foundation” as I sang that during trying times of my mission.
I’ve got a lot of close seconds like Redeemer of Israel.

Mine is I Stand All Amazed
This is the hymn that pulled me out of my depression and kept me from killing myself.
It was Easter Sunday 1997. I had been depressed for most of my life (I have clinical depression) and, even though I had gotten married the year before, I was seriously conteplating suicide. I thought that no one – including my Heavenly Father – loved me or wanted me. That I was a horrible person.
I went to church after not having gone for several months. The lesson in RS was on the atonement. During the lesson, I had a great spiritual experience that litterally changed my life.
They then sang I Stand All Amazed. The words just resonated with me – that Jesus died for ME – because He loved me. O how wonderful!!!!
My life did a 180 in that instant. I went off mt anti-depressant drugs and haven’t gone back. I will never live in the dark again.

Mine is ‘Abide with Me; Tis Eventide.’ When I hear it, I think of a scene from “Other Side of Heaven.” This guy brings his son to the missionaries after he falls out of a tree and hits his head. They bless him and pray over him and after several days, the boy is fine.
When they were talking about the scene during a behind the scenes part, they said that they tears the father sheds were NOT fake. After the cut, they had a word with the make up department about the amount of fake tears they used, they told the director that they hadn’t used any.

I have two favorites, I will share my favorite verse of each song:
“Praise to the Man”

Joseph Smith was truly a man of God. I can picture the great council in heaven and I often think of Christ speaking with Joseph about what ‘his’ mission on earth would be – like Joseph is second in command to Christ.

I love that song because it speaks of the future, of how it is going to be – there is no end to all the things that matter.
