I have been singing for nine years and while I don’t know any specific foods that will help your voice I know plenty of foods which you’re best not to have before singing (if you don’t plan on singing that day, you can have these foods). Stay away from sugars and stay away from dairy. And if you feel your voice is dry…use slippery elm…it’s amazing.

Take it from a vocal major and performer:
Don’t drink.eat: caffeine, citrus, anything high in sugar, or anything dairy!!!! (This is very important!)
The best thing for your voice is just plain hot water (because hot tea has caffeine)….And, of course, not hot water….but if the water is too cold it will constrict your vocal chords….so…basically, the real answer is: Water.

stay away from hot food and spicy foods also, that bothers the tousil and lower throat. drink water and lemon tea is good also. good luck!

Many folks with tell you that lemon is great prior to singing…my vocal teacher always told me that lemon drys out the vocal cords and may feel good but isn’t healthy for singing.
    Water is excellent.
It isn’t so much about what to eat, but rather, what to avoid right before singing–avoid heavy fatty foods or dairy products that would “coat” your mouth and give you a “clogged” feeling in your throat…

you are learning how to sing?. sweety, first you check your voice with a good singer then try to clear your throat.
If you have a good voice then you can progress it otherwise no benfit to control the foods and others.

i know a girl who carries a lemon juice bottle whenever she plans to sing, so she drinks a few drops of it to clear her throat. i think the acids in the lemon juice eat away any food particles in your throat that could affect your singing voice.
