Richard Dawkins is a staunch believer in the Darwinian theory of Evolution. He complains that teaching children about hell is a form of child abuse worse than molestation. Really? If Dawkins’ children were kidnapped at gunpoint and he was given a choice between having his children listen to a sermon on hell or having his children molested, would Dawkins really choose the latter? Highly doubtful! So then, is his primary concern for the children, or is it to use children in his argument to attempt to destroy faith in God?

If morality comes from man, who according to Dawkins is just another animal, why don’t we see Dawkins walking around naked in public, as all other animals do? The concept of clothes was one of the first moral instructions that God have to man after man sinned. The Bible tells us that God made garments out of skins to cover Adam and Eve’s nakedness. No one has an excuse not to know we need to be covered. It is part of our created instinct.

The “Darwinian Gospel” continues to reject what is clearly obvious all around us. Dawkins should have plucked the delusion log from his own eye. The lie that we cannot prove God’s existence needs to end. Everything God proclaimed so long ago in the Bible regarding past and current events, He has fulfilled.

His Christmas Day ‘Sermon’ was (according to BBC News) about how we should be ‘green’ NOT how we should warn others of the danger of rejecting Christ. Nowhere in the Bible are Christians told to ‘save nature’, but hundreds of times we are exhorted to reach people with the Good News (English for Gospel) of what Jesus did for them on the cross.
Surely the church ‘leaders’, of whatever denomination, should put saving souls before saving nature (as nature will last until God destroys it)?
Does it show the ‘leaders’ of the churches, like the Jewish religious leaders of Christ’s day, & in Elijah’s, Isaiah’s & Jeremiah’s days, don’t actually believe the Word of God?
‘neravair’, you miss the point: yes, we are to be caretakers of the planet, but as an aside from pointing people to the only Saviour for immortal souls for all eternity. As the Bible says God will destroy nature (read Revelation), we christians should — no, MUST — put peoples’ eternal destination (heaven or hell) before any other concern.
Telling God we stopped a plant from becoming extinct will not be acceptable when BILLIONS are on the way to the lake of fire forever.

Why doesn’t using a sign on the street corner bring revival of religion to a city like the slab in the story below?

BY: S.B. Shaw

– “YOU CANNOT RUN AWAY FROM THE SPIRIT OF GOD.”

Several years ago, a gentleman, apparently in great haste, entered a certain city in one of the southern states on horseback, rode up to the hotel, alighted, and introduced himself as follows:

“I have been trying to run away from the Spirit of God, but it has followed me all of these many miles that I have traveled, and it is with me now. I had Christian training, and as I heard the gospel proclaimed from time to time I became deeply convicted of sin; but I was very rebellious and determined not to yield. The Spirit said, ‘You must be born again,’ but I said, ‘I will not be born again.’ I purchased this horse, a good, strong beast at the time, and I have worn it down poor, as you see; but I have not succeeded in outrunning the Spirit of God. I feel that I am about to die, and I have a request to make. I want you to sell this horse and bury me here in the street by this sign post, and put up a slab by my grave bearing this inscription, ‘You cannot run away from the Spirit of God.’ ”

The man soon died. Physicians examined him and said there was no disease about him, but that he died of mental agony.

His strange request was granted, and the slab bearing this silent warning preached many a sermon to passers-by, and resulted in a revival of religion in the city of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. — Written for this book by Mary E. Jenks, McBain, Mich.
Tanith: I know it did in the story, but why doesn’t it happen nowadays?

The teacher asks little Johnny if he knows his numbers.

“Yes,” he says. “My daddy taught me.”

“Can you tell me what comes after three?”

“Four,” answers little Johnny.

“What comes after six?”

“Seven,” answers little Johnny.

“Very good,” says the teacher. “Your father did a very fine job.

What comes after ten?”

“A jack,” answers little Johnny.

Little Johnny was on his way home from the store with a loaf of bread in one hand, and his other hand in his pants pocket.

Off in the distance, Father Joseph sees little Johnny and realizes this is the perfect opportunity to go preach the gospel of the Holy Bible to the young boy.

Father Joseph approaches little Johnny and says, “I see that you have the “Staff of Life” in your hand.”

“Yep,” replies little Johnny.

“And I have a loaf of bread in the other!”

Little Johnny was in church, getting restless as the sermon dragged on.

He whispered to his dad, if we give him the money now, will he let us go?

Three pastors and their wives were carpooling their way back from a revival when suddenly their van slid off the side of a cliff. Sadly, they were all killed.

At the Pearly Gates, Peter called the first couple forward. Looking through his book, Peter looked up at the first preacher and said sharply, “You hypocrite! All you ever cared about in your life was money! You’ve preached many times, ‘Money is evil, money won’t buy you happiness, money this, money that.’ Yet you’ve hoarded money all your life! You were the wealthiest person in your whole community. In fact, you were so consumed with money that you married a woman named Penny, isn’t that so?” he demanded.

Obviously shaken, the preacher meekly responded, “Y-yes sir, that’s true.”

“Well, you did preach the gospel, so I won’t send you off to you know where, but you don’t get to come in the front gate. You have to walk all the way around heaven and enter in the back door. Off you go!”

And the couple went shamefully on their way.

St. Peter leered at the next pastor and yelled, “And you! All you ever talked and cared about was alcohol! You often preached, ‘The bottle this, the bottle that.’ Yet, you’ve been drunk nearly every time you’ve preached. In fact, you were so consumed with alcohol and drinking that you married a woman named Brandy, isn’t that so?” he accused. The pastor only nodded in shame.

“Well, you also preached a powerful sermon — despite being drunk — so no hell for you either. But you don’t get to come in the front gate either. You have to walk all the way around heaven and enter the back door. Off with you!” And the couple slowly shuffled off.

“And you! ” St. Peter began.

The third pastor held up his hand to silence St. Peter and turned to his wife and said, “We’d better start walking, Fanny.”

If two different gospels record the same sermon different ways… and Jesus said the exact opposite of what he meant, how can this be a perfect word of God? Is there a secret code for figuring this kind of thing out, or does everybody just happily make up their own explanations?

Who does the best job of spreading the gospel: Linus in the Charlie Brown Christmas Special, or professional clergymen? Linus delivers the gospel in a moving way that lots of people can relate to and even quote; many people watch it every holiday season. Professional clergymen usually have to rely upon people coming to their churches to receive their sermons, most of whom may already be inclined to believe. Who do you think reaches more people and spreads the gospel?
