What is the overall structure of the service (gospel/sermon/prayer)?
What is the norm for a mosque, the pew/altar structure or are they seated on floors like some of the traditional services?
What is the normal attire to wear to the services? Long-sleeve shirt and pants, a scarf for women, correct?

The sermon is mainly about reminding the mosque goer’s of Allah (GOD) by taking examples from the Quran, Hadith (saying & actions of prophet Mohammed & his companions), and or their biographies.
Sometimes the sermon is about admonishing the behavior of a few Muslims by warning the majority about it.
Sometimes it is about stories of the Prophet Mohammed and/or his companions in order to encouage the Muslims to stay strong, to keep firm in their beliefs.
After the sermon their is a 2 unit prayer consisting of standing & bowing to the floor, placing the forehead, hands, knees and toes on to the ground. After this it is over.
Ttheir are no chairs, Muslims sit on a carpeted floor. However, their are chairs available for those who find it difficult to sit down on the ground, mainly the elderly and handicaped.
The normal attire for men & women is the same attire they would generally wear out in Public, although, many men like to wear shirts, or a white thobe (long mens ankle length dress) as this was the habit of prophet Mohammed. The attire is clean, not tight and modest.
For women it is very modest. The same anywere else. A head scarf covering her hair, neck and bossom (breats). Loose, non-see through, long sleeve, ankle length clothing, with no perfume.
Men and women and separated by gender. Men in front & women in back. As this is more appropriate & practical since after the sermon their is prayer were bowing down on the floor takes place. It would not be appropriate for women to be bowing down in front of men, especially during prayer.
Everything is finished in about 30 to 45 minutes.
Now, the sermon part is somthing that is highly recommeded to attend for all, but it is not mandatory. Most Musims will attend the sermon, but some only come for the prayer part which IS mandatory. This is because of time constraints from work. Some only have time for the prayer.
If this is so then it will last about 15 minutes
You are always welcome to go to any Mosque & ask the Imam (prayer leader of the Mosque) if you can sit in an observe on a Friday. I am sure he would be very obliging to you.
Thank you for being inquisitive.
You enter the mosque while a man is at the pulpit at the front giving a sermon (called a khutbah), and you basically sit quietly until the man is done preaching.
After that, him (or another man) gives the prayer-call (called the azan). Then everyone stands up, gets next to each other in rows, and prays together.
Then everyone leaves and goes home, or wherever.
Mosques don’t have pews/altars, it’s basically just carpeting and you sit on the floor. They’re also gender-segregated, so there’s going to be a separate area for women too.
Normal attire – wear clothing that covers your knees, and women need to have their hair covered. Shirts don’t really matter.
